Assistant Principal/Special Education Program Administrator

This position will assist the Principal with administration and supervision of the day school programs. Additional supervision, consultation, and support for member Districts may also be included in the responsibilities.

This position requires a Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education/LBS I or II or other school service personnel endorsement and General Administrative/Principal endorsement, supervisory endorsement may be considered. A minimum of five years successful teaching experience required and leadership/administrative experience preferred. It is expected that the teacher evaluation modules be successfully completed by September 1st, 2018. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a wide range of students, parents, and staff is critical to being successful in this position.

Salary to be determined based on budget allocations and previous experience. Benefit package includes Board paid TRS and THIS, mileage reimbursement per the employee handbook, and health insurance options. This is an 11 month contract and may require driving on a regular basis.

School Social Worker

This position will provide services to the member districts assigned within the Livingston County Special Services cooperative. Typically the responsibilities will include counseling, both group and individual, social development assessments/histories, along with other duties associated with those of a School Social Worker. Driving to assigned schools is required.

Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in School Social Work and a PEL with the School Support Personnel School Social Worker Endorsement are required. 

Salary: To be determined based on experience, contract, and salary schedule. Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate as of August 1st of each year.

Speech Pathologist

To provide speech and language services to our specialized programs and member districts. It is anticipated that the equivalent of 1 FTE position will be needed for the upcoming school year based on in an increase of needs. * We will consider both full or part-time applicants.

Qualifications: Experience with providing speech and language services in school settings. Knowledge of assistive and instructional technology is desired. Understanding and experience with a variety of disabilities and student needs is preferred.

Certification Requirements: Master’s degree and IL Type 10 and/or Type 73 Speech Pathologist Certificate.

Salary: To be determined based on experience.

School Psychologist

This position will provide services to the member districts assigned within the Livingston County Special Services cooperative. Typically those responsibilities include counseling, academic/behavior interventions, assessment, and programming. We have the flexibility to consider both full and part-time applicants.

Qualifications: IL PEL with School Psychologist endorsement in Illinois is a must. We are also willing to consider applicants for specialist level internships for the 2018-2019 school year.

Salary: To be determined based on experience, contract, and salary schedule.

Special Education Teacher

LCSSU is accepting applications for special education teacher positions. These positions may be in cooperation with our member school districts. The special education teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports.

Certification: LBS I license/certificate.
