Special Education Teachers (2 Positions) (Elementary & High School)

LCSSU has a high school special education teaching position opening within its specialized school program classrooms. The teacher will be responsible for classroom instructional activities and implementation of the IEPs of each student. Candidates should be able to modify assignments and curriculum based on individual needs of the students. Experience working with students with social emotional and learning challenges a plus.

Certification Requirements: Appropriate teacher LBS1  license/certification. Will consider a licensed teacher in the process of securing special education endorsements.

Salary: To be determined based on experience and salary schedule.

 

Paraprofessional

LCSSU has a paraprofessional position opening within its specialized school program classrooms. The paraprofessional will assist the classroom teacher in the daily activities and in other duties as assigned.

Applicants will have or be able to obtain a paraprofessional certificate.

 

School Social Worker

To provide counseling, both group and individual, social developmental assessments/histories along with other duties associated with those of a school social worker. Sustaining the recent mental health initiatives from recent grant may also be part of the activities. Experience with a wide range of services is desired. Part-time applicants will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Certification Requirements: Master’s degree in School Social Work with PEL/Type 73 School Service Personnel licensure is required. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with others is a necessity.

Salary: To be determined based on experience.

 

Speech & Language Pathologist

To provide speech and language services to our specialized programs and member districts. We will consider both full or part-time applicants. LCSSU as well as the Prairie Central School District will accept applications.

Qualifications: Experience with providing speech and language services in school settings. Knowledge of assistive and instructional technology is desired. Understanding and experience with a variety of disabilities and student needs is preferred.

Certification Requirements: Master’s degree and IL Type 10 and/or Type 73 Speech Pathologist Certificate.

Salary: To be determined based on experience.

 

School Psychologist

This position will provide services to the member districts assigned within the Livingston County Special Services cooperative. Typically those responsibilities include conducting assessments, intervention support/consultation with teachers and students, counseling, and other needs identified. Experience with PBIS/SEL/RTI and other systems of support are welcomed. We will consider both part-time and full-time applicants.

Qualifications: Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a necessity for this position. Experience with students ages 3 – 21 is desired.

Certification Requirements: IL PEL (Professional Educator License with School Psychologist endorsement is a must.

Salary: To be determined based on experience.
